MORE ABOUT THEA RAMSAY (in her own words)…

“I’ve been a Christian for a long time. I’m Baptist, and have undergone the believer’s baptism twice—the first time when I was fourteen, the second time in the Pacific Ocean off Maui, with my late husband.
I’ve been writing since before I could spell. I still remember writing a short story in which I spelled magic “M-A-D-J-I-K.” Ha ha.
I’m a voracious reader, and still like magic, however you spell it. Not witchcraft, of course; I mean fantasies and fairy tales, which have delighted people for centuries.
I was born blind, have chronic pain from a variety of conditions, and a serious mental illness called borderline personality disorder.
I’m concerned about so much darkness and dystopic material in books and movies today. My mother liked horror, the strange and terrible, whereas I’ve always been attracted by beauty, the strange and lovely.
My favorite Bible verse is John 3:16 and 17. It’s still the best news I’ve heard all day. 1st Thessalonians chapter 4 verses 13-18 are also my favorite verses, as they deliver still more good news re the rapture of the church.
I’ve always been fascinated by the idea that true believers in Jesus Christ are called his bride.
My fave book in the Bible is the Song of Songs.
Anyway, I like soft, romantic, beautiful things. There’s not enough of that anymore in the world, so my writing is about that.”

Thea’s latest book is entitled Lucy.

Description:
Ten-year-old Lucy and her parents live on Earth in the last throes of its final holocaust. Their only hope is being accepted as refugees on another world, but one rejection letter after another eats away at their hope, while death closes in on them. Hope revives when a stranger arrives with a letter of acceptance from the mysterious planet Andorpha.

While Lucy, her best friend, Kim, and her parents wait to board the space ship, her parents are killed. Lucy faces danger and growth as she comes to grips with her parents’ death and the strange customs of Andorpha. While Kim laps up Andorphian love like warm milk, Lucy wonders if it’s all too good to be true. When Lucy learns the Andorphians believe their planet is under a curse, she begins to suspect there is a reason that she and her family were so readily accepted as refugees. Do they expect her to be the antidote to an ancient curse?

When Kim urges Lucy to accept the Andorphians and their way of life, the only shot at life they have, Lucy is certain she’s right. But all is not what it seems.

MORE ABOUT GUEST AUTHOR WENDY LEDGER

Wendy Ledger is the author of three books, Joy Returns!, Kate and the Horses, and The Loudest Meow: A Talking Cat Fantasy (Book 1: The Cats of the Afterlife Series). Book 2 of this series, The Sharpest Claw, will be available this fall. Wendy lives in Northern California with her husband and their three cats.

Her latest book is entitled The Loudest Meow: A Talking Cat Fantasy (Book 1 in the Cats of the Afterlife Series).

Book Description:
What happens to cats when they die?

For Jem, a calico cat, it’s a catastrophe. She knows she’s not meant to be in the afterlife. Not yet. She’s certainly not ready to face the cats she knew before. Not now. Maybe not ever.

Clearly, a mistake has been made. Surely, it can be corrected, and Jem can return home to her life on earth. All of this could then be written off as one very bad dream. But when would the nightmare end?

Excerpt:
She descended into sound—yowls and calls, snores, and a few purrs–and landed hard on a plastic chair, bounced, and skidded on a dirty, cold floor. So her paws were back on the ground. But where was she? This certainly wasn’t her home.
“Watch where you’re going!” a skinny cat hollered as he sidestepped out of her way.
“I’m sorry,” Jem cried and lowered herself as far as she could on the ground, so he could see she meant no harm.
A striped cat with a torn ear bent down and gave her a sniff. “She’s a Shiny,” he said. “Probably her first landing.”
The skinny cat smirked. “That’s what happens when you fight the fall.”
“What do you mean?” Jem cried. She lifted her head up, but she still cowered. “I don’t understand. Where am I?”
“She really doesn’t know anything,” the striped cat sniggered.
“Welcome to the Station of New and Lost Souls,” the skinny cat called over his shoulder as he and the striped cat sauntered away.

An Amazing Discovery I made about myself as a Person and as a Writer

Hello everyone,

Today I’d like to talk to you about a huge discovery I made about my creativity and my work as an author.

As you well know, by reading my character interviews and such, I love Christian fiction and mysteries. However, there’s one more genre I find fun and exciting to write and this genre is fantasy. I don’t mean the dark fantasy some authors write. No, my fantasy is clean, has a Christian fiction flair, and a hint of mystery. The magic I use is good magic, to ward off the evils of my world. I have created magical creatures that rescue people and animals in trouble, and two girls earn their wings after assisting with the rescue mission and discovering the truth about their supposed friend.

Will I still write my Christian mysteries and thrillers? Certainly, but I want to be known as a multi-faceted author, therefore I may experiment with other genres, but make my novels clean and easy for my readers to digest. If it turns my stomach, I won’t read it, nor will I write it and subject you to such literature, though there are those of you who like this type of writing style.

I encourage you to follow me down my creative journey as I make discoveries about myself as a Christian, a woman, a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, let’s just say an all-around human being, and last, but certainly not least, as a writer. Thank you for reading and sharing my amazing discovery.

Before I leave you to ponder my revelation, I have one final question for you, my dear reader. What amazing discoveries have you made as a creative person? Please share your aha moments in the comments below. God bless you and happy writing.
